Camping at Domke Falls

We took our first camping trip of the summer over Memorial Day weekend between 25 Mile
Creek and Stehekin. We went by boat and were perched on a "cliff" overlooking Domke Falls. It was BEAUTIFUL but a little unsettling being that close to the water with three little ones...especially Lo who is about the clumsiest thing around. I felt like I couldn't take my eyes off of her for more than a minute or two. We all survived and had a great time at that! The first
night was a little rough though, Lo woke up at some point during the night (neither Aren nor I wear a watch and after our phones died we had no idea what time it was for a few days) and SCREAMED and screamed and screamed...woke everyone up and then once she was finally settled, and I had dozed off, nudged me to take her to the bathroom. A little while later Kam woke up cold and out of her sleeping bag. The next night was fine and everyone slept until sometime around 8:00...I think:)

The girls had so much exploring, looking for treasures, and gathering wild flowers and wood
for the camp fire. It's so nice to get away from everything for a few days and relax as a family!

 

First Summer BBQ

A few nights ago the weather was warm, the sun was shining and there was NO wind...we took advantage!  We BBQed some steak and veggies, played, listened to some tunes and even though our new patio furniture hadn't been delivered yet, ate outside anyway.

Apple Blossom 2012...Festivities

About a month ago the kids started asking
about the carnival and I couldn't wait for it to get here...They were
relentless and impatient about getting to go. If finally came and they were
both tall enough (by a hair) to ride most of the big rides. After we put them
on the first one and the door shut we thought for sure we would see them run
out with tears in their eyes after the ride was over. NOPE...they couldn't get
in line fast enough to do it again! We also did the parade this year as a whole
family and I hope that tradition continues!

Soccer Season

Soccer has officially begun!! Kam at her first practice of the season...now if only it would hurry and warm up so we don't freeze out there, brrrrr!

St. Paddy's Day

St. Patrick's Day is a pretty big deal in the Magnussen family and this year the girls got to celebrate by making Irish Soda Bread with their Irish Nana as part of our Irish lunch.  They each had their own special jobs and Lo was super excited that she was allowed to help with the big girls!  The bread was as tasty as always and we had a lovely little St. Paddy's Day lunch!

Cosmic Bowling

We took a little journey up to Brian's Pizza, in Cashmere, with the Colliers, for a little Saturday afternoon bowling.This was the first time we had taken the kids bowling and they had a blast. Aren and I hadn't been bowling in over ten years and this little trip obviously lit a spark because we have been four times in the last month!

Just an average day filled with school, activities, a tired 2-year-old, and errands...and a little sanity for mom at the end of the day!

Just hanging out after dinner keeping your mom company, waiting for me to finish cleaning up the dinner mess. Sometimes Lo, you can be a good little buddy.

After School Art

Lauryn and I picked up a few art supplies for an after school project before we grabbed the girls from school. They thoroughly enjoyed getting messy and amazingly didn't get a drop on their clothes...which is good because I didn't think to make them change out of their school uniforms before we started.
